In a recent interview with Game File, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe discussed the obstacles in bringing Palworld to the Nintendo Switch and hinted at future developments. Although he didn't completely dismiss the possibility of a Switch version, Mizobe highlighted significant technical challenges. He mentioned ongoing discussions about expanding to "new platforms," but stressed that Pocketpair has no concrete announcements at this time.

Despite the game's demanding PC specifications posing a challenge for a Switch port, Mizobe remains hopeful about broadening the game's accessibility. Earlier this month, he noted, "Palworld’s specs on PC are higher than the Switch’s specs. So, perhaps it's difficult to port to Switch due to technical limitations."

Mizobe has been vague about future platform expansions, leaving open the possibility for Palworld on PlayStation, Nintendo, or mobile devices. In an earlier interview with Bloomberg, he confirmed that Pocketpair is exploring options to bring the game to additional platforms. Additionally, Mizobe mentioned that the company is open to partnership or acquisition proposals but has not entered into buyout discussions with Microsoft.

Beyond platform considerations, Mizobe shared his vision for enhancing Palworld's multiplayer features. The upcoming arena mode, described by Mizobe as "kind of an experiment," sets the stage for further multiplayer developments. "My dream is to achieve a true PvP mode in Palworld," Mizobe stated. "I want to incorporate more elements from games like Ark or Rust."

Both Ark and Rust are renowned for their survival mechanics, featuring challenging environments, intricate resource management, and robust player interactions, including alliances and tribes. These games blend PvE and PvP elements, with Ark introducing threats from prehistoric creatures and environmental hazards, while Rust challenges players with wildlife and radiation zones.

Palworld, developed by Pocketpair, has captured the gaming world's imagination with its unique blend of creature collection and survival shooting. Players can capture creatures known as Pals, utilize them for base-building and other tasks, and engage in survival challenges.

Since its launch, Palworld has achieved remarkable success, selling 15 million copies on PC within its first month and attracting 10 million players on Xbox through the Game Pass subscription service. The game is gearing up for a significant update with the release of the free Sakurajima update on Thursday, which will introduce a new island, the eagerly awaited PvP arena, and more.
