About Mudras:

The term 'Mudra' derives from Sanskrit, meaning 'posture' or 'pose.' Composed of 'mud' (joy) and 'ra' (produce), Mudras are known to generate joy and cheerfulness. Originating from Hinduism and Buddhism, Mudras are integral to various practices, including 200 in Bharatanatyam, 250 in Mohiniattam, and 108 in Tantric rituals. They serve as a silent language of self-expression through hand gestures and finger postures.
