Marvel's Spider-Man 2 swings onto PC today, January 30th, and initial performance benchmarks are promising. Developer Nixxes Software, via the PlayStation Blog, detailed the PC port's features, optimized for a wide range of hardware.

The PC version removes the PSN requirement and boasts advanced ray tracing, including DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction. Nixxes graphics programmer Menno Bil highlighted improvements in reflections, shadows, and ambient occlusion.

DLSS 3 and FSR 3.1 upscaling and frame generation are included, along with Intel XeSS. While DLSS 4's Multi-Frame Generation isn't directly supported, users can potentially leverage the Nvidia app for enhanced image quality. Ultrawide support extends to a remarkable 48:9 aspect ratio, with cinematics viewable up to 32:9.

System requirements are categorized for ray-traced and non-ray-traced settings. Low-end configurations (720p, 30 FPS) are achievable with older hardware like an Nvidia GTX 1650, Intel Core i3 8100, and 16GB RAM. High-end configurations (4K, 60 FPS with "Ray Tracing Ultimate") demand an RTX 4090, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and 32GB RAM.

Steam Deck compatibility remains uncertain due to the relatively high RAM and GPU requirements. Unlike the previous, PS4-based Spider-Man titles, Spider-Man 2's PS5 origins might present greater hardware demands.

Despite this, the detailed and flexible system requirements have garnered significant online praise, with many users commending the inclusivity and potential for broad performance.
