Civ 7 Ghandi DLC Might Be Coming After All

Firaxis Games hasn't ruled out the possibility of Gandhi's return to Civilization VII, hinting at a potential DLC release. This follows an IGN interview with lead designer Ed Beach on February 13, 2025, addressing the absence of several familiar civilizations and leaders from the game's initial launch.

A Chance for Gandhi's Return

Beach clarified that the omission of leaders like Gandhi wasn't due to oversight. Instead, the team faced a difficult choice: with numerous popular choices, they needed to make room for fresh additions to keep the game feeling innovative and exciting. While some fan favorites were left out initially, Beach confirmed that Firaxis is considering their reintroduction in future updates or DLC.

The exclusion of Great Britain and India, for example, was a strategic decision to balance the initial roster. This approach, coupled with the extensive DLC history of Civilization VI, suggests a strong likelihood of Gandhi’s eventual return to Civ VII, though the precise timing remains uncertain.
