All Dynasty Warriors: Origins Difficulty Settings

Four difficulty levels are available: Historian (easy), Wayfarer (normal), Hero (hard), and Ultimate Warrior (very hard). Initially, only Historian, Wayfarer, and Hero are accessible. Ultimate Warrior unlocks after completing a faction's main scenario. Note that completing a battle on Ultimate Warrior earns a Trophy/Achievement, but campaign completion doesn't have difficulty-specific rewards.

Which Dynasty Warriors: Origins Difficulty Setting is Best?

Historian is ideal for newcomers or those prioritizing story over challenge. Wayfarer suits most players, even with limited Musou/Warriors experience. Hero is recommended for series veterans, while Ultimate Warrior is a challenge for experienced Musou players seeking maximum difficulty post-unlock. Difficulty can be adjusted between battles via the config menu without affecting the storyline.

Difficulty Mode Differences in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Historian simplifies gameplay, making enemy attacks easily blocked, staggering enemies easier, bravery gain increased, and Musou Gauge filling faster. Hero increases enemy strength and aggression, reduces parry/evade windows, removes Meat Bun drops, depletes bravery on blocking, limits battle influence time, and slightly reduces Skill Points and gold rewards. Ultimate Warrior intensifies Hero's challenges with even tighter parry/evade windows and significantly reduced battle rewards.
