Civilization VII's 2025 launch is just the beginning! Firaxis has ambitious plans to keep the game fresh and exciting throughout the year. Here's a look at the Civilization VII 2025 roadmap.

Here's what Civ VII players can anticipate in 2025:

Early March | Crossroads of the World: Ada Lovelace, Carthage, Great Britain, and 4 new Natural Wonders arrive. This includes the 1.1.0 major update, Natural Wonder Battle, and the Bermuda Triangle. |
Late March | Crossroads of the World expansion continues with Simon Bolivar, Bulgaria, and Nepal. The 1.1.1 update introduces Marvelous Mountains and Mount Everest. |
April to September | The "Right to Rule" expansion brings 2 new Leaders, 4 new Civilizations, and 4 new World Wonders. |
Civilization VII Free Updates
Firaxis is committed to ongoing free updates based on player feedback. Initial updates will focus on balancing, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. Beyond that, top priorities include:
- Adding team-based multiplayer for co-op play.
- Expanding multiplayer to 8 players across all ages, refining the Distant Land system.
- Giving players the option to choose starting and ending ages for more flexible gameplay (single or double-age games).
- Introducing a wider variety of map types.
- Adding hotseat multiplayer.
Please note that specific release dates for these features are not yet available. In addition to these updates, Firaxis promises in-game events and strong support for the modding community.
