Can You Play Split Fiction Solo? Answered
Hazelight Studios, known for its excellent couch co-op games, has released its latest title, Split Fiction, which continues the studio's focus on cooperative gameplay. A burning question for many is: Can you play Split Fiction solo?
Can You Play Split Fiction By Yourself?
Unfortunately, no. Like previous Hazelight titles, Split Fiction is designed entirely around two-player cooperation, either online or via local couch co-op. There's no AI companion, and the game's intricate mechanics require precise timing and coordination between two players, making solo play practically impossible.
The Split Fiction Friend's Pass: Your Co-op Solution
However, Hazelight offers a convenient solution: the Friend's Pass. This allows a friend to join you in the game, regardless of whether you're playing locally or online, and it works across platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, and PC). Only one player needs to own Split Fiction; the other can download the free Friend's Pass.

How the Friend's Pass Works:
- Own Split Fiction on any platform.
- Have your friend download the Friend's Pass on their platform.
- Send them an invite to your game session.
- Enjoy the full game together! The Friend's Pass supports cross-platform play via PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam, Epic Games Store, EA app, and even the EA Friends list.
Hazelight's Friend's Pass is a fantastic initiative, making it easier for players to experience the cooperative fun of Split Fiction even without owning the game themselves.
Split Fiction launches March 6th on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
