Zenless Zone Zero Tier List: December 24, 2024 Update

HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) boasts a diverse cast of characters, each with unique abilities and synergy potential. This tier list ranks all available Agents in version 1.0, reflecting the current meta. Note that tier lists are dynamic and subject to change with new content and balance updates. For example, while Grace was initially a top performer, the addition of powerful Anomaly units like Miyabi has shifted her ranking.

S-Tier

S-Tier Agents are exceptionally strong, fulfilling their roles perfectly and synergizing effectively with others.

• Miyabi: Miyabi's high damage output and swift Frost attacks make her a top contender. While requiring strategic play, her devastating potential is undeniable.

• Jane Doe: A superior version of Piper, Jane Doe excels with her high-crit Assault Anomaly, surpassing Piper in damage output. Despite the inherent slowness of Anomaly-focused DPS, her potent Assault potential earns her an S-rank.

• Yanagi: Yanagi specializes in triggering Disorder, activating its effects without needing to apply Shock on top of existing Anomalies. This makes her a valuable teammate, particularly alongside Miyabi.

• Zhu Yuan: An excellent DPS, Zhu Yuan's swift Shotshell attacks pair well with Stun and Support characters. In version 1.1, her synergy with Qingyi (for quick stuns) and Nicole (for Ether damage boosts and DEF reduction) is particularly effective.

• Caesar: Caesar redefines the Defensive Agent role. She provides exceptional protection, powerful buffs and debuffs, scales with Impact for easy stuns, and offers crowd control.

• Qingyi: A versatile Stunner, Qingyi is effective in any squad with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and rapid Daze buildup, coupled with a significant DMG multiplier against stunned enemies, make her a standout.

• Lighter: A Stun Agent with substantial buffs, Lighter works best with Fire and Ice characters, making him highly valuable given the strength of units within those elements.

• Lycaon: Lycaon's Ice-based Stun capabilities, coupled with his ability to reduce Ice resistance and increase ally Daze DMG, make him essential for any Ice team.

• Ellen: Ellen's Ice-elemental attacks synergize exceptionally well with Lycaon and Soukaku, delivering substantial damage, especially with her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates.

• Harumasa: An S-rank Electric-Attack Agent (initially free), Harumasa delivers powerful hits with proper setup.

• Soukaku: Soukaku provides valuable Ice buffs, enhancing the performance of Ice units like Ellen and Lycaon.

• Rina: Rina provides strong DMG and PEN (defense ignore) buffs, making her a valuable ally, particularly for Electric characters due to her Shock Anomaly generation and buffs.

A-Tier

A-Tier Agents are strong within specific team compositions or excel in their roles, but are outperformed by S-Tier options in overall versatility.

• Nicole: A supportive Ether unit, Nicole's abilities control enemies and boost Ether DMG, but her effectiveness is limited to Ether DPS teams.

• Seth: A solid shield and support, but less impactful than top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar, particularly due to his niche application with Anomaly DPS.

• Lucy: Lucy provides off-field DMG and ATK buffs, but her DPS is maximized with synergistic character pairings.

• Piper: While her kit centers around her powerful EX Special Attack, which excels at building Physical Anomaly, she's surpassed by other Anomaly units.

• Grace: Grace remains relevant for Anomaly generation, but newer units have diminished her overall impact.

• Koleda: A reliable Fire/Stun unit, effective in teams with other Fire characters, particularly Ben.

• Anby: A reliable Stun unit with fun mechanics, but outperformed by other Stun Agents in consistency.

• Soldier 11: A straightforward Fire-infused Attack unit, dealing high damage but lacking the versatility of other DPS characters.

B-Tier

B-Tier Agents offer some utility, but are outclassed by other options in their respective roles.

• Ben: A defensive character with parry and punish mechanics, but lacking significant team benefits outside of a Crit Rate buff.

• Nekomata: Deals high AoE DMG but relies heavily on team synergy, currently hampered by limited supportive options within her element and faction.

C-Tier

C-Tier Agents currently offer limited value compared to other available options.

• Corin: Deals Physical DMG, but is outperformed by other Physical Attack units like Nekomata and Piper.

• Billy: While dealing some DMG, Billy's damage output is significantly lower than other DPS options.

• Anton: Anton's Shock DMG potential is hampered by low DPS and single-target focus.
