NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals players: a new hero will launch every month and a half, coinciding with the release of new seasons.

Creative director Guangyun Chen revealed these post-launch plans in an interview with Metro, promising a playable character with each half-season. This translates to at least one new hero every six weeks. Chen explained, “Every season will bring fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We're dividing each three-month season into two halves, introducing a new hero in each half. Our goal is to continuously enhance the experience and keep the community engaged.”

This ambitious plan leaves players eagerly anticipating each season's conclusion—who will be the next hero? Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls began strongly, introducing Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, with The Thing and the Human Torch set to launch in the second half. While these iconic characters set a high bar, maintaining this momentum will be a significant challenge.

The game already boasts a strong roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm, but countless other Marvel characters await their turn. Rumors suggest Blade might appear in Season 2, with fans also hoping for Daredevil, Deadpool, and more X-Men. NetEase's plans for expanding the Marvel Rivals roster remain unclear, but the game's success indicates no slowdown is anticipated.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 also included numerous balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more promised in future updates.
