STALKER 2: Science Exploration Side Quest Guide

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players can embark on a side quest called "For Science!" This quest, a relatively short but rewarding endeavor, grants access to the STC Malachite facility.

Initiating "For Science!"

The quest begins in the Chemical Plant's Central Elevator area. Players will hear Yaryk Mongoose radio Skif, requesting a meeting. Locate Mongoose on the first floor (easily accessible by vaulting a railing). He'll explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a silo, initiating the quest.

Reaching the Silo's Summit

Ascend the building's stairs, dispatching any rodents encountered. Climb out a broken window and use the external ladder and walkways to reach the silos. Be prepared for electro anomalies; equipping a boltcaster is advisable. Activate the device atop the silo. This will attract Bloodsuckers.

Confrontation and Conclusion

Return to Mongoose. He'll explain the unforeseen consequences of the experiment. Players can choose to kill Mongoose or accept the reward (a Malachite pass and coupons). Neither choice impacts future gameplay. The Malachite pass provides access to the STC Malachite base, unless already obtained via the main storyline. Choosing the peaceful option is recommended for acquiring both the pass and the coupons.
