The rumors suggested that fans could expect announcements of remasters of the classic God of War titles. This speculation was fueled by reports from industry insider and journalist Jeff Grubb, which ignited excitement among the fanbase. However, Santa Monica Studio quickly stepped in to clarify the situation:
"Pantheons collide! We’re thrilled to present a lineup of Greek and Norse characters for this panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of God of War where we’ll reflect on the past two decades of the series. Given the star-studded lineup and the anticipation surrounding this milestone, we want to make it clear that no announcements are planned for this event." - Santa Monica Studio
Instead of game announcements, attendees were treated to new thematic artwork showcasing Kratos alongside the serpent Jörmungandr. Furthermore, the event will include appearances by actors from the God of War series, such as Terrence Carson, who lent his voice to Kratos, and Carole Ruggier, known for her role as Athena. The panel is set to take place on March 22, promising a nostalgic and engaging celebration of the franchise's history.
