Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a "wonderful" Resistance 4 concept that never materialized. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price, retiring after 30 years at the studio, disclosed that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately deemed unsuitable due to market timing and opportunities.

PlayDespite this, Price expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance narrative, highlighting the series' compelling alternate history and the potential for further exploration of the Chimera's origins and future.

The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3. Set in a 1951 alternate history featuring an alien invasion of the UK, the series paved the way for Insomniac's subsequent projects, including the Marvel's Spider-Man franchise and newer Ratchet & Clank installments.

Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his three-decade tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as Co-Studio Heads to succeed him. Insomniac's recent releases include the PC port of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next project.
