GTA 6 Release Date Still Set for Fall 2025, Take-Two CEO Insists — 'We Feel Really Good About It'

Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on track for a fall 2025 release, as confirmed by its parent company, Take-Two Interactive. This was announced during their third quarter financial results report, ending December 31, 2024, where GTA 6 was listed for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. This reaffirmation means that, for the time being, the much-anticipated game is sticking to its previously announced release schedule without any delays.

In a conversation with IGN prior to the financial report's release, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed cautious optimism about the release date. "Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things," Zelnick remarked. Despite this, he added, "So we feel really good about it [fall 2025]."

When pressed for details on GTA 6's development progress, Zelnick remained tight-lipped. "Look, I think the game is eagerly anticipated both internally and externally," he stated. "We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited."
