Welcome to a world dominated by robots, where the battle for survival hinges on the precious commodity of battery life. In "No Robots, No Life" (ノーロボット ノーライフ), you step into a Pre-Alpha experience that promises to evolve with each update. For those with slower devices, optimizing your gameplay by setting "Shadows" to 0 and "Draw Dist" to 02 in the settings can enhance your experience.
Gameplay Features
In this immersive game, you take on the role of a robot with the ability to interchange limbs and body parts in real-time, without the need for menus. This feature allows for dynamic gameplay and customization. Each limb offers unique functionalities, and by mixing and matching, you can unlock special abilities such as x-ray vision, plasma shields, stealth camouflage, night vision, and hyperspeed, among others.
The enemy and neutral AI within the game operate under the same rules, meaning they too possess abilities based on their equipped limbs. This creates a balanced and challenging environment where strategy is key.
The transportation system in "No Robots, No Life" is expansive, featuring motorcycles, cars, trucks, large robots, and more, all designed to enhance your mobility across the game's world. An innovative inventory system allows you to carry all weapons and ammo to any vehicle with a mount or storage, all managed through real-time animated interactions without menus.
Your interactions within the game world are persistent, thanks to a comprehensive save system. Everything from dropped bodies, limbs, weapons, storage, vehicles, and the broader environment is saved, ensuring your actions have lasting impacts.
For quick and seamless transitions, the game includes "TerePods" (Repair and Transport Pods) for instant full body swaps. These pods can be carried and mounted on trucks due to their limited range. Look forward to future updates that may introduce feature swap or fast travel pods.
1.23a Pre-Alpha FUN Features
For those with a physical keyboard, dive into the "Debug" features of the 1.23a Pre-Alpha version. These features are experimental and may not make it to the final game, but they offer a unique way to explore and test the game's mechanics. To access these features, press F12 on your keyboard to open the console and enter the following commands:
- show debugbodies - This command reveals bodies at the Smell station in the starting area that you can use to test abilities. Note that these bodies won't load at game start and cannot be saved using TerePods.
- teleport (AreaCode) - Use this command to move instantly to different areas within the game. Area codes range from 0 (Starter Area) to 6 (Vehicle Repair Area).
- teleport up-(Height) - Teleport upwards by a specified height, useful for testing fall damage and animations or accessing higher locations.
- teleport lastsave - Return to your last save point quickly.
- detach (BodyPart) - Remove specific body parts such as head, arms, legs, or all at once.
- disable immunities - Turn off all robot immunities for a more challenging experience.
- reboot - A simple reboot of your robot character.
As "No Robots, No Life" continues to develop, these Pre-Alpha features offer a glimpse into the potential depth and interactivity of the final game. Stay tuned for future updates and enhancements that will bring this robotic world to life.
