Conquering the Lifer in Wuthering Waves 2.0: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves' 2.0 update introduces the Rinascita region, home to challenging new Tacet Discords, including the formidable Lifer – a uniquely buffed Chop Chop residing in Oakheart Highcourt's maze. This guide details how to overcome this challenging encounter.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer is situated at the maze's heart in Oakheart Highcourt, beneath the massive tree's roots. An accessible entrance is located southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer's Board Game

Inside, players find the Lifer beside a six-piece board game. Connecting three pieces before the Lifer wins. Players control black, the Lifer white. Crucially, the board game manipulates the maze's walls; placing a black piece on the outer circle opens walls in that direction. The game can be exited and resumed, preserving piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is vital for buff removal. Avoid winning before buff removal, as the Lifer immediately attacks.

Removing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer possesses seven buffs, four removable using the Stake of Imbalance. Buffs are visible on the glowing yellow module behind the Lifer.

Removable Buffs (Fragility):

  • Growing Loneliness: 10% Max HP recovery per second after 2+ seconds without attack.
  • Desire for Escape: 25% ATK increase; additional 25% DMG increase every 20 seconds.
  • Impending Stalemate: 20% ATK increase per DMG instance, stacking up to four times (resets after 6 seconds without DMG).
  • Decay of Time: 200% increased resistance to all elemental damage types (Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, Havoc); 25% Max HP increase.

Permanent Buffs (Stability):

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: 50% reduced Immobilization duration.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking >25% Max HP damage in a single hit.

Obtaining the Stakes of Imbalance

Use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the corresponding gates. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (white glow). One room requires defeating Tacet Discords, another breaking Friable Rocks, and one is simply on a table.

Place each Stake in the module before its statue to remove a buff; the purple line turns yellow upon success.

Defeating the Lifer

With buffs removed, the Lifer is significantly weaker. Win the board game or choose "Fight it out!" to initiate combat. The Lifer's attacks are less threatening without its buffs.

First victory: Premium Supply Chest. Second victory: Premium Supply Chest + three Basic Supply Chests. Third victory: Advanced Supply Chest + three Standard Supply Chests.

Buffs can be re-enabled for a greater challenge (no achievement).

Lifer Achievements:

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine chests (three victories).
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.

For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's moves; it will eventually make a mistake.
