Spider-Man Animated Series on Disney+ Already Renewed for Seasons 2 and 3

Marvel's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the Disney+ animated series chronicling Peter Parker's freshman year, has received early renewals for both Seasons 2 and 3.

Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, revealed in an interview with The Movie Podcast that Season 2's scripts are complete, with storyboards already halfway finished, even before Season 1's premiere on January 29th. Season 3 is also officially greenlit.

Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters...we're halfway through the animatics. What [lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off...it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons." He mentioned upcoming meetings with Trammell to discuss Season 3's direction, but offered no release dates for either Season 2 or 3.

The series focuses on Peter Parker's high school experiences as he develops his superpowers. Whether Seasons 2 and 3 will follow Peter through his sophomore and junior years, or explore further freshman adventures, remains to be seen.
