Smite 2's Open Beta Launches with Aladdin and More!

Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, has officially launched its free-to-play open beta across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. This launch coincides with a significant content update.

A year in the making and built using Unreal Engine 5, Smite 2 boasts enhanced visuals and refined combat mechanics. A revamped item shop offers greater flexibility, allowing players to equip items regardless of their chosen god's class. The core 5v5 gameplay remains, with players controlling gods from diverse mythologies.

This open beta introduces a wealth of new content:

• Aladdin: A brand-new god, designed specifically for Smite 2, featuring wall-running and a unique three-wish revival mechanic. His ultimate ability involves a lamp-based 1v1 capture.
• Additional Gods: Geb (Egyptian), Mulan (Chinese), Agni (Hindu), and Ullr (Norse) join the roster, expanding the diverse pantheon.
• Joust Mode Returns: The beloved 3v3 Joust mode makes a triumphant return.
• New Map: An Arthurian-themed map provides a fresh battleground.
• Conquest & Assault: Updated Conquest and an alpha version of Assault mode are also included.
• God Aspects: Optional enhancements for select gods add strategic depth.

Titan Forge Games has expressed confidence in Smite 2's superiority over its predecessor, crediting player feedback from the closed alpha for improvements. They've also promised ambitious new content releases in 2025. While currently unavailable on Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns, the developer remains open to a potential release on the Switch 2.
