Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years
Rockstar Games, the renowned creators of the GTA series, have delighted fans by releasing an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update brings fresh enhancements exclusively to mobile platforms, leaving console and PC users without these new features.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
Bully: Anniversary Edition has been updated with new languages and primarily focuses on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to ensure smoother gameplay.
The update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users with compatible devices, along with an updated app icon and added haptic feedback across both iOS and Android platforms.
Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, including problems in 'That Bitch' where Mandy’s locker couldn't be picked, 'Weed Killer' which wouldn't progress if the window was broken prematurely, and 'The Rumble' where police cars would inexplicably fall through the floor. Additionally, the update addresses instances where enemies wouldn't attack Jimmy, leading to unbalanced combat, and fixes crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The gaming community has long been clamoring for a sequel, Bully 2, but Rockstar seems focused on other major projects. Although Bully 2 was reportedly in development during the 2010s, it was shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 now in the pipeline, the prospects for Bully 2 seem dim, especially considering the departure of many original team members from Rockstar.
While the new update for Bully: Anniversary Edition isn't a complete remaster or a sequel, it provides a significant upgrade for mobile players. For those unfamiliar with the game, Bully offers a unique take on a schoolyard sandbox experience. You step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old troublemaker navigating the challenges of Bullworth Academy, complete with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics.
You can dive into Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, with the added benefit of full gamepad support.
