Skull and Bones Adds Land Combat This Fall: Ubisoft Reveals Year 2 Plans

This ambitious plan includes the introduction of new gameplay modes, ships, the legendary Kraken, and, most notably, the long-awaited land combat feature.
During a special Year 2 showcase that premiered yesterday, Ubisoft unveiled a treasure trove of upcoming content. The spotlight was on Season 3: Guts and Glory, slated for this fall, which will finally bring the land combat feature fans have been eager for since the game's launch in February of last year.
In Season 3, players will step off their ships and onto the land, engaging in swordfights and using firearms against adversaries. This feature is part of the Rogue Warlord additions, which will also involve players exploring beaches and caves to rescue skilled Officers. A teaser video offered a glimpse of what's to come, but players will need to wait until later this year to experience the full extent of these new land-based adventures. While land combat is the highlight of Skull and Bones Year 2, the roadmap for 2025 is packed with more exciting content. Season 2: Oaths of War, set to launch in the summer of 2025, will feature Megaforts and the massive Frigate large ships. Finally, Season 4: Eye of the Beast, arriving this winter, will introduce the Kraken, the Hunter’s Guild, and the Corvette large ship.
For those eager to dive into the pirate life, Skull and Bones is offering a free weekend from April 17 to 21. This is the perfect opportunity to experience the game's PvP action and even purchase it at a discounted rate, although the exact price has yet to be revealed.Skull and Bones launched on February 16, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S, earning a solid 7/10 in our review.
