Pokémon TCG: Destined Rivals Preorders Live - Top Tips to Secure Yours
The Pokémon Trading Card Game's upcoming release, Destined Rivals, is generating a buzz that's impossible to ignore. I'm already clearing shelf space and mentally preparing not to splurge on an Elite Trainer Box that I definitely don't need. This set reintroduces Trainer's Pokémon, brings back the iconic Team Rocket, and showcases some of the most stunning card art we've seen in recent times. Whether you're a collector of shiny cards or simply revel in the thrill of powerful cardboard, Destined Rivals is poised to captivate your interest.
The Pokémon Center website has mysteriously undergone "maintenance" and now features preorders. Should those sell out (which is highly likely), keep an eye on Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and other major retailers, where listings could pop up any moment. It's time to refresh those pages like it's Black Friday for your favorite battle decks. Here's your comprehensive guide to securing your preorder this week:

When Does Destined Rivals Officially Launch?
Mark your calendars for May 30, 2025, the official release date for Destined Rivals. That's when all sealed products will be shipped and available on shelves, provided there's any stock left. The Pokémon Company has been addressing ongoing stock shortages, but it's still wise to act fast. From May 17 to 25, select stores will host pre-release events with Build & Battle boxes and early access tournaments. If you're eager to participate, reach out to your local league store now—perhaps with a few snacks to sweeten the deal.
What Products Will Be Launching With This Set?
I'd love to convince myself that I'll only buy one item, just as I'd love to believe I'll hit the gym three times a week. We're all in denial, and that's okay. Here's what you can expect when Destined Rivals hits the market:
- Booster Packs
- Booster Boxes (36 packs)
- Elite Trainer Box
- Pokémon Center Exclusive Elite Trainer Box
- Booster Bundle (6 packs)
- Triple-pack blisters
- Build & Battle Box
- Build & Battle Stadium
Additionally, expect to see special collection boxes featuring alternate art promos, likely showcasing characters like Cynthia, Misty, Ethan, or Marnie. You might not need them, but you'll definitely find a way to justify the purchase.

Destined Origins Cards I’ve Got My Eye On
I'm already envisioning multiple binders filled with these cards, but a few have already claimed a spot on my mental wishlist:
- Cynthia’s Garchomp ex is the epitome of power and strategy. With its ability to deal significant damage and draw cards, it exudes the confidence of a champion. I'm aiming to get three of these.
- Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex combines utility with a dazzling aesthetic. Its ability to accelerate Fire Energy and heal your team while dealing 160 damage is simply mesmerizing. I'm already obsessed.
- Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex is all about drama and flair. It demands a full Rocket-themed deck to unleash its potential, but when it does, it manipulates energy like a hyper Gengar. Its extravagance is something I deeply respect.
- Misty’s Psyduck is here to bring joy and perhaps a few unexpected losses. Its ability to discard itself to the top of your deck is quirky and endearing. I don't care about the strategy; it's perfect as it is.
- Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex embodies the essence of a villain with its aggressive Dark-type strategy. It thrives on energy acceleration and disruption, making it a dream for any player looking to shake things up. I plan to run it like it's 2020 all over again.
