Cursed Objects, or "Cursed Possessions," are unique tools randomly scattered across the maps in Phasmophobia, depending on your chosen game mode and settings. To harness their power, you need to locate them on the map and activate them during your investigation.

While the standard equipment in your van is designed to assist you safely, Cursed Objects offer powerful shortcuts that come with significant drawbacks. Activating these items can lead to a rapid drop in sanity, temporary blindness, or even trigger a surprise "cursed" hunt. Therefore, using them requires careful consideration, and in some cases, it might be wiser to leave them untouched. Note that Cursed Objects do not appear at certain difficulty levels or in Challenge Mode.

How All Cursed Objects Work in Phasmophobia

Currently, there are seven distinct Cursed Objects in Phasmophobia, each with unique abilities and associated risks. A common side effect among all of them is a significant reduction in the user's sanity. If you're playing in a group, it's advisable to keep your distance from the player using the Cursed Object, as it can trigger an immediate "cursed hunt."

Cursed Hunts are similar to regular hunts but ignore your sanity level and can occur even right after a regular hunt. They last 20 seconds longer, making evasion and hiding more challenging, depending on your difficulty settings.

Here's a detailed breakdown of all Cursed Objects and their functions:

**Specific Ouija Board Questions such as “Hide and Seek” can trigger a Cursed Hunt.

**If the player uses the Music Box too long a Cursed Hunt will start.

Summoning CircleAllows the player to summon and trap the ghost inside the circle by lighting the candles around it.

**Doing this will always trigger a Cursed Hunt afterward unless a Tier 3 Crucifix is placed on the circle.

Voodoo DollAllows the player to force ghost interactions by pressing each of the 10 pins inside the doll.

**If the pin inside the doll’s heart is pushed in, a Cursed Hunt will start.

Monkey PawAllows the player to ask for a certain amount of wishes (depending on difficulty) that can influence the ghost and/or the environment.

**Certain Monkey Paw Wishes can severely impair or trap the player for extended periods so choose wisely.
