He praised the dedicated team, many of whom worked on the original title, expressing strong confidence in their abilities.Urquhart candidly discussed the hurdles faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and post-Microsoft acquisition. Simultaneous development of multiple titles, including Grounded and Pentiment, significantly taxed the studio's resources. He acknowledged a period of strained development, even mentioning internal discussions about potentially halting The Outer Worlds 2 to focus on Avowed. However, Obsidian ultimately persevered, continuing development across all projects.
Urquhart reflected on this challenging period, highlighting the successful launches of Grounded and Pentiment, and the promising progress on Avowed. He described The Outer Worlds 2 as "looking incredible," although specific details remained undisclosed. Given the delay of Avowed to 2025, similar timeline adjustments for other projects are anticipated.
