Noir indie shooter MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will be without microtransactions

Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio have unveiled new details about their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. This first-person shooter, distinguished by its striking 1930s cartoon aesthetic, casts players as private investigator Jack Pepper. He’ll navigate a world brimming with jazz, dynamic events, and a compelling noir atmosphere as he unravels a series of mysterious cases.

A key announcement made on the game's official X page confirms the absence of microtransactions: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment to a purely single-player experience, devoid of in-app purchases, is a noteworthy departure from some industry trends.

Inspired by the rubber hose animation style of the 1930s, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire offers a unique visual experience. Players will tackle corrupt politicians and various underworld figures in a city overflowing with chaos and vibrant energy. The gameplay blends classic first-person shooter mechanics with a humorous twist, featuring whimsical weaponry, a distinctive health display, and cartoonish enemies. Expect a thrilling blend of action and noir, delivered with a playful touch.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for release sometime in 2025.
