Leaked: Transformers Gameplay Emerges Post-Cancellation
Recently canceled Transformers: Reactivate, a co-op game unveiled by Splash Damage in 2022, resurfaces in leaked gameplay footage. The game, a collaboration with Hasbro, would have featured Generation 1 Autobots and Decepticons uniting against an alien threat, "the Legion."
Limited footage was shown publicly before cancellation. However, leaked gameplay from a 2020 build has re-emerged, showcasing Bumblebee navigating a destroyed city, transforming between robot and vehicle modes, and utilizing various weapons. The style is reminiscent of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, but with a different antagonist.
The leaked footage, despite some missing textures, appears polished, including environmental destruction. A silent cutscene depicts Bumblebee emerging from a portal near the ruins of New York City, contacting an ally named Devin.
Numerous other leaks exist, dating back to 2020, predating the official announcement and subsequent cancellation. While the game won't be released, the leaks offer a look at Splash Damage's vision for this ambitious, ultimately unsuccessful, multiplayer title.
