Embark on "A Good Scrub"

Initiate "A Good Scrub" by speaking with Betty, the bathhouse owner, after inquiring about work with the Kuttenberg innkeeper. Remember, Kuttenberg has two bathhouses; Betty's is in the southeast. Accept her offer to find Matsek in Grund.

Matsek, hesitant about being seen with the prospective bathhouse employees, waits in a courtyard with three women. Identify yourself as Betty's representative and escort them back to the city.

Promote the Bathhouse

Next, help Betty advertise the bathhouse. Practice your sales pitch with her, then shout it out at the grain market, horse market, vintners' street, and merchants' street. Note: This must be done during daylight hours.

Clean the Bathhouse and Complete "A Good Scrub"

Before the alderman's inspection, clean the bathhouse. Failure to complete this promptly will result in closure and prevent you from receiving the "Ill Repute" quest from Betty.

Finding Fleas for ‘Ill Repute’

After a successful inspection, speak with Betty again. She'll mention the council's decision regarding the city's main bathhouse, requiring you to force the councillor to abandon the competing establishment.

Gather information from Meaty Mary, Katcha, and Little Lida to discover the councillor's dislikes. You'll need chamomile brew for the wine cask on the second floor of the competing bathhouse. Lida only reveals the councillor's fondness for fragrant oils after receiving a noblewoman's dress (obtainable from a tailor). Alternatively, you can steal oils from a cabinet on the third floor.

Katcha mentions the bathhouse's past flea infestation. To obtain the flea-infested item, search the beggar's camp near Kuttenberg's east gate. Examine their sacks to find a flea-infested blanket.

Note: Successfully completing one of the three tasks (the chamomile brew, the oils, or the fleas) is sufficient to drive the councillor away, allowing quest completion. Afterward, you can proceed with quests like "Axe from the Lake."
