Following the phenomenal success of Oppenheimer, Nolan's adaptation of Homer's epic poem, originally penned in the 8th or 7th century BC, promises a visually stunning cinematic experience. Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is a sweeping action epic, filmed globally using groundbreaking IMAX film technology. This marks the first time Homer's seminal work will grace IMAX screens, arriving in theaters worldwide on July 17, 2026.

The film chronicles Odysseus's arduous ten-year journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. While Universal remains tight-lipped on further plot details, early reports suggest an impressive ensemble cast.

Matt Damon, reuniting with Universal after his Oppenheimer success (a seven-time Academy Award winner, including Best Picture and Best Director), was reportedly the first actor in discussions for the lead role.
