A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, potentially part of a limited-time event. This follows a trend of fewer 4-star character additions compared to the increasing number of 5-star units.

The selector, according to leaker HomDGCat, will offer players a choice between Qingque, Pela, Serval, and Asta. Interestingly, all four characters were introduced in Version 1.0, with Asta even being an early-game acquisition. This fuels speculation that developer HoYoverse may not be releasing new 4-star characters soon, especially considering rumors of an upcoming influx of 5-star units, including those from the anticipated Fate/Stay Night crossover.

The inclusion of this selector is notable, as previous versions (2.1 and 2.7) also featured similar events to aid players in strengthening existing 4-star characters through Eidolon upgrades.
