"Lanterns" is poised to be a gripping detective drama, drawing inspiration from acclaimed series like "True Detective" and "Slow Horses." The plot follows Chandler's Hal Jordan and Pierre's John Stewart as they team up to unravel a murder mystery that promises to delve into even darker secrets. This series is a key component of James Gunn's expanding DC universe, which also includes "Creature Commando" and the much-anticipated films "Superman" and "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow."

The creative minds behind "Lanterns" include Damon Lindelof, renowned for his work on "Lost," alongside Chris Mundy and Tom King. James Gunn has emphasized the show's unique tone, describing it as "very grounded, very believable, very real," and unlike what fans might expect from a Green Lanterns series.

Kyle Chandler, celebrated for his role in "Friday Night Lights," takes on the role of an older Hal Jordan, while Aaron Pierre, who made waves in "Rebel Ridge," steps into the shoes of John Stewart. "Lanterns" is slated to premiere in 2026, aligning with the release of the "Supergirl" movie, promising an exciting year for DC enthusiasts.
