New Games on Switch: 'Fitness Boxing with Hatsune Miku' and More
Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, circumstances necessitate a change of course. Let's enjoy one last roundup!
Reviews & Mini-Views
Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)
Following the success of Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, Imagineer's collaboration with Hatsune Miku delivers a surprisingly engaging fitness title. This rhythm-boxing game incorporates Miku's music into both standard and dedicated modes. Note: Joy-Con only; no Pro Controller or third-party accessory support.
The game offers adjustable difficulty, free training, warm-ups, workout tracking, and unlockable cosmetics. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice is jarring and best muted. Overall, a solid fitness game, best used to supplement, rather than replace, other exercise routines. -Mikhail Madnani
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Magical Delicacy ($24.99)
Magical Delicacy blends Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. While the exploration is well-implemented, inventory management and UI could use improvement. The game's beautiful pixel art and music are highlights.
The Switch version plays well, aside from occasional frame pacing issues. It's a good game, but some quality-of-life updates would elevate it to essential status. -Mikhail Madnani
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)
A polished sequel to the original Aero The Acro-Bat, this release boasts an improved presentation compared to Ratalaika's usual emulation wrappers. Features include box and manual scans, achievements, a gallery, and cheats. Only the Super NES version is included; a Mega Drive/Genesis version would have been a welcome addition.
A solid platformer for fans of the series and 16-bit classics. -Shaun Musgrave
SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5
Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)
More of an expansion than a sequel, Metro Quester | Osaka offers a new dungeon, characters, and mechanics within the framework of the original. Expect turn-based combat, top-down exploration, and challenging gameplay that rewards careful planning.
A satisfying addition for fans of the original and a great entry point for newcomers. -Shaun Musgrave
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
