Hades II's "The Warsong" Update: Ares Arrives, New Boss Emerges
Supergiant Games' Hades II has unleashed its second major update, "The Warsong," introducing a significant amount of new content. This update brings the formidable god of war, Ares, into the game, along with his unique Boons, adding a thrilling new dimension to gameplay.
Ares and Beyond:
The Warsong Update isn't just about Ares. Players will also face a new animal companion, fresh enemies, a redesigned Altar of Ashes boasting new art and Arcana effects, and a massive influx of over 2,000 new voice lines. The update also features new in-game events and expands the Crossroads area, introducing new music and even a duet opportunity with Artemis.
Looking Ahead to Future Updates:
While The Warsong Update is still fresh, Supergiant Games has already begun planning the third major update, slated for release in several months. While a v1.0 release date remains unannounced, the developers confirm the core structure of the Underworld and Surface routes is complete, with current efforts focused on expanding existing content. Post-launch patches for The Warsong Update will precede this next phase of development, focusing on:
- Hidden Aspects: Unlocking the full potential of the Nocturnal Arms.
- Enhanced Guardians: Refining boss battles for increased challenge and surprise.
- Expanded Story: Further developing Melinoë's narrative and enriching character relationships.
Supergiant Games expressed gratitude to players for their contributions to Hades II's development, emphasizing their role in creating a worthy successor to the original Hades. The Warsong Update is available now as a free download on Steam for existing Hades II owners.
