A new game from the creators of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow has been announced

MercurySteam, the Spanish studio behind acclaimed titles like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Metroid Dread, has lifted the veil on its next ambitious project: Blades of Fire, an action-RPG developed in partnership with 505 Games. Prepare to be immersed in a dark fantasy realm teeming with enigmatic races and terrifying creatures.

The debut trailer offers a tantalizing glimpse into the game's fast-paced, hack-and-slash combat, showcasing a distinctive visual style and a darkly atmospheric setting. Gameplay and artistic design bear a clear resemblance to Lords of Shadow, while environmental details and enemy designs echo the aesthetic of Darksiders. Intriguingly, the trailer also features a mechanical bird, hinting at a traversal mechanic the protagonist will likely utilize to explore the game world.

Developed using MercurySteam's proprietary Mercury Engine, Blades of Fire aims to sidestep the optimization challenges that often plague modern games built on Unreal Engine 5.
