Finn Jones Acknowledges Iron Fist Critiques, Seeks Redemption
Charlie Cox's successful transition from Netflix to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with his role as Daredevil has sparked speculation about the potential return of other characters from the Netflix series, The Defenders. Finn Jones, who portrayed Danny Rand, also known as Iron Fist, has expressed his eagerness to reprise his role, stating, "I’m here and I’m ready."
Jones last appeared as Iron Fist in 2018 during Season 2 of the Iron Fist series and in The Defenders, where he teamed up with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter). Despite the lukewarm reception to his portrayal of Iron Fist, the successful integration of Daredevil into the MCU has rekindled hopes for a revival of The Defenders.
Recent reports suggest that Marvel is "exploring" the possibility of bringing back The Defenders. At LaConve, an anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones addressed the criticism of his Iron Fist character. He acknowledged the mixed feedback from fans and expressed a strong desire to redeem his performance, saying, "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen. There’s a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f***ing chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."

The integration of the Netflix series into the MCU canon, now available on Disney+, has paved the way for characters like Jon Bernthal's Punisher to appear in Daredevil: Born Again, a direct continuation of the Daredevil story. This development has fans hopeful that other members of The Defenders might also make a comeback in the MCU.
