They advised the community to report any suspicious invites using the tools provided by their email clients or social media platforms. The developers emphasized that any future beta tests would be officially announced through The Witcher's official channels.

The Witcher 4 was first unveiled during the Game Awards in December 2024, accompanied by a trailer that introduced Ciri as the new protagonist, a significant shift from the series' traditional lead, Geralt. This change sparked widespread discussion among fans. In an interview with VGC, The Witcher 4 Narrative Director Phillipp Weber addressed the community's reaction. He expressed understanding for the fans' attachment to Geralt but highlighted the team's commitment to showcasing Ciri's potential in future reveals.

Weber stated, "The best thing that we can do, and I think this is really our goal, is to prove that with Ciri, we can do a lot of interesting things so we can really make it worth it because this decision to have Ciri as a protagonist wasn’t made yesterday, we started making this a very long time ago."

Executive Producer Małgorzata Mitręga also shared his thoughts on the fan response, expressing gratitude for the support and acknowledging the passion behind the feedback. The developers have promised that The Witcher 4 will be the most ambitious entry in the series yet, featuring new regions and monsters.
