The Battle Of Polytopia Buffs The Aquarion Tribe, Making Them Thalassic Superstars!
Midjiwan has unleashed a significant update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe. This marks a substantial refresh for the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion units receive a dramatic makeover. Land units now boast mermaid tails, making them amphibious or fully aquatic. This grants them effortless water traversal, although land movement is slower. The update introduces flooded terrain, allowing land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.
Buildings have also undergone an aquatic transformation. Construction on water is now possible, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal bases for seafaring warfare. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, a permanent addition to the Aquarion arsenal, function similarly to land-based crops.
New aquatic creatures join the fray. Sharks ambush, puffers provide long-range bombardment, and jellies deliver electric shocks. Returning favorites include Tridentions and Crabs, the latter now flooding crossed tiles, complementing the mermaid-tailed troops. See it in action:
