In 2020, a heartwarming tale unfolded when a Batman: Arkham Knight fan, battling schizophrenia, commissioned a short video message from Kevin Conroy through the Cameo service. Anticipating a typical 30-second greeting, he instead received over six minutes of deeply compassionate encouragement. Conroy, profoundly touched by the fan's story, chose to offer far more than a perfunctory response. This extraordinary act of kindness proved a lifeline for the fan during incredibly challenging times.

A Reddit post detailed this moving experience. The fan, deeply affected by Batman: Arkham Knight's conclusion – where Batman conquers his fears, paranoia, and hallucinations – saw a powerful parallel to his own struggles with schizophrenia. Expressing his gratitude, he shared his condition with Conroy and explained how the Dark Knight's journey had empowered him.

Expecting a standard Cameo video, he was overwhelmed by Conroy's extensive and empathetic message.

The fan shared: "This video has saved me from suicide countless times. Hearing Batman say he believed in me was incredibly powerful... But as time went on, it became just as important that it was Kevin himself who believed in me."

Initially hesitant to share the video publicly, the fan's decision to post it stemmed from learning about Conroy's own experiences with a sibling who suffered from schizophrenia. He hoped it would offer similar solace to others.

He added: "If someone in his family asks me to delete this video, I will of course do so. But it has inspired me in my toughest moments, and maybe it will inspire someone else. Hang in there. Because Batman believes in you."

Sadly, Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice of Batman, passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66. However, his words and enduring legacy continue to inspire countless individuals worldwide.
