HC And - Mors eller fars kræft

This app, "HC And - When mother or father has cancer," helps prepare children aged 4-7 for hospital visits related to a parent's cancer diagnosis. Developed in collaboration with the Oncology Department at R. H.C. Andersen Children and Youth Hospital, hospitalized children and their families, and 10:30 Visual Communication, the app uses child-friendly animation and narration to explain complex medical terms.

The app's interactive, game-like format is designed to ease anxiety by presenting information in short, digestible segments. It covers cancer, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy through seven short, engaging stories. Hospital staff can utilize this resource to foster a shared understanding with young patients and their families.

"HC And" is a valuable tool for introducing young children to the hospital experience in the context of a parent's cancer treatment. It's free to download and available to everyone.
