Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!
Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is kicking off the new year with festivities, including the New Year's 2025 event, followed by Fidough Fetch and the Sprigatito Community Day. But before all that, the Eggs-pedition Access paid event runs throughout January. For $4.99, players unlock numerous benefits to enhance their Pokémon catching experience until January 31st. This also includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system, allowing for more storage and daily opening limits.
What's in Store for Pokémon Go's New Year's 2025 Event?
The New Year's event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this year, there's still plenty of festive fun.
Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include a generous 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.
Raids feature a snowflake-hatted Pikachu (Tier One) and party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny chances. Themed Pokémon will also appear in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
