Allah says in the Quran:
"Establish prayer for My remembrance" (20:14),
"Successful indeed are the believers, those who are humble in their prayers" (23:1-2),
"...and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater..." (29:45)
From these verses, we understand that prayer helps us remember Allah, fosters humility, and prevents us from engaging in sinful acts. However, the reality often differs. While standing in prayer, many of us find our minds wandering to business, work, agriculture, family issues, and daily life concerns. How humble are we before the Almighty, the All-Glorious, and the Most Honorable Allah? Despite performing the five daily prayers, millions of Muslims fall into acts considered immoral and unjust in Islam, such as usury, lying, cursing, and backbiting. Why does this happen?
It's because we don't fully understand what we are reciting during our prayers, in our Quran recitations, during prostration (Sajdah), bowing (Ruku), and sitting (Qa'dah). As a result, prayer becomes just a ritual we perform without understanding. Is this the example of an educated nation? It's crucial to know what we are reciting in our prayers today.
"Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to that of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in the slightest." [Sahih Muslim: 2678]
