Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2: No Denuvo DRM
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 Rejects DRMNo Microtransactions Either
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 developers Saber Interactive recently published a FAQ offering a general overview of the game. As Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 approaches its September 9 release, Saber Interactive has confirmed that no DRM software, such as Denuvo, will be included in the upcoming action game.DRM, or digital rights management, is frequently used to deter piracy and safeguard game code. However, it has a mixed reputation, with players citing potential negative effects on performance. Examples of DRM issues include Capcom's Enigma DRM in Monster Hunter Rise, which reportedly caused incompatibility with the Steam Deck and modding.
Although Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be DRM-free, Saber Interactive confirmed that Easy Anti-Cheat will be used on PC at launch. Earlier this year, Easy Anti-Cheat faced scrutiny from the Apex Legends community following a hacking incident during the ALGS 2024 tournament in March.
Furthermore, the developers stated that they have no current plans for official mod support. However, exciting features await players, including a PvP arena mode, horde mode, and an extensive photo mode. Saber Interactive also confirmed that all gameplay content in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is free, with microtransactions and paid DLC limited to cosmetic items only.
