This guide helps you locate and utilize the merchants in Valheim, enhancing your gameplay experience. Valheim's procedurally generated worlds make finding these helpful NPCs challenging. This guide provides locations and inventories for each merchant.

Valheim's core gameplay revolves around exploring biomes, gathering resources, and defeating bosses. The merchants offer valuable items to ease the challenging gameplay, particularly in difficult areas like the Swamp and Mountains. Their locations, however, are not fixed, adding a layer of difficulty.

How To Find Haldor (Black Forest Merchant)

Haldor, often the easiest to find, spawns within a 1500m radius of the world's center. He resides in the Black Forest, accessible early in the game. He's frequently near The Elder's spawn point (located near glowing ruins in Burial Chambers). The Valheim World Generator (by wd40bomber7) can pinpoint his exact location. Once found, build a portal for easy access. Trade with him using gold, obtained by exploring dungeons and selling gems.

How To Find Hildir (Meadows Merchant)

Hildir, located in the Meadows, is harder to find due to her distant spawn (3000-5100m from the world center). The Valheim World Generator is recommended. Alternatively, search Meadows within that radius (spawn points are ~1000m apart). A T-shirt icon appears on the map when nearby. Build a portal after finding her. She offers clothing with stamina reduction buffs and quests for lost items, leading to new dungeons and shop items.

Hildir's inventory is extensive, with many clothing items offering stamina reduction. Her quests unlock additional, higher-tier clothing. This table shows examples:

How To Find The Bog Witch (Swamp Merchant)

The Bog Witch, in the Swamp, is the newest merchant. Her location (3000-8000m from the world center) makes her difficult to find without the World Generator. Look for a Cauldron icon. She offers items for cooking and mead brewing.
