Tranquil Indie Game 'Roia' Debuts from Award-Winners Emoak

Mobile gaming's innovative spirit shines brightly in Roia, a captivating puzzle-adventure that masterfully leverages the unique features of smartphones. Developed by Emoak, the studio behind acclaimed titles like Paper Climb and Lyxo, Roia offers a refreshing take on the genre.
The core gameplay revolves around guiding a river from its mountain source to the sea. Players sculpt the landscape using intuitive touch controls, overcoming challenges and obstacles along the way. The experience is less about frantic challenges and more about relaxation and mindful interaction.The game's creation holds a deeply personal meaning for designer Tobias Sturn, inspired by childhood memories spent exploring a creek with his grandfather. Roia, dedicated to his grandfather's memory, beautifully captures this nostalgic essence.
Visually, Roia embraces a minimalist aesthetic reminiscent of Monument Valley, featuring serene environments such as forests, meadows, and charming villages. A helpful white bird guides players, adding a touch of gentle encouragement. The game's tranquil atmosphere is further enhanced by a moving original soundtrack composed by Johannes Johannson, who also worked on Emoak's Lyxo.
Roia is available now on the Google Play Store and App Store for $2.99.
