First Teaser for The Fantastic Four: First Steps Confirms New Trailer Release Date, Offers Glimpse at Retro Futuristic Setting

Marvel Studios has unveiled a teaser trailer for their upcoming film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The brief clip, titled "PREPARE 4️⃣ LAUNCH," depicts children excitedly rushing towards a shop window displaying several vintage television sets. The screens show a rocket launch, the Fantastic Four donning space suits, and the message "Prepare 4 Launch." The 1960s retro-futuristic setting is evident from the TVs and overall aesthetic. Two additional screens are partially obscured.

Marvel's "launch coverage" begins at 7 AM ET on February 4th (4 AM PT). The video description states, "The Future Foundation invites you to take your first steps into a fantastic new era."

The film, slated for release on July 25th, 2025, stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Ralph Ineson portrays Galactus, and Julia Garner is Silver Surfer. Supporting roles include Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Matt Shakman directs, and Kevin Feige produces.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they confront their most formidable challenge yet. Balancing their heroic duties with familial bonds, they must defend Earth from the voracious space god Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). The stakes become intensely personal when Galactus's plan to consume the planet escalates.

At New York Comic Con (NYCC) in October, attendees viewed artwork showcasing key MCU figures, including the first live-action depiction of H.E.R.B.I.E. (Humanoid Experimental Robot B-Type Integrated Electronics).

Speculation abounds regarding Robert Downey Jr.'s potential return as Doctor Doom, either within The Fantastic Four: First Steps or through a teaser. Feige has confirmed the Fantastic Four's appearances in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
