Mastering Support in Marvel Rivals: A Tier List of Strategist Characters
Marvel Rivals offers a diverse roster of iconic characters, but while damage dealers often steal the spotlight, strategic support characters are crucial for team survival. This guide ranks the seven currently available support units, focusing on their healing and buffing capabilities. While Jeff is popular, he's not the top contender.

S Tier
Mantis excels as a support unit, healing allies and boosting damage by consuming orbs (which regenerate automatically; headshots provide instant recovery). While fragile, her effectiveness is amplified by skillful headshot execution, making her accessible to both beginners and experienced players. Her damage output is limited, focusing primarily on healing and support.
Luna Snow, another S-tier choice, offers a balanced approach. Her primary attack heals allies but also damages enemies. Her Ice Art ability enhances both healing and damage, while her Ultimate, Fate of Both Worlds, creates an AoE effect for either healing or damage, depending on target proximity. Her ease of use and focus on positioning/timing make her ideal for newcomers. However, her damage potential remains secondary to her support role.
A Tier
Adam Warlock shines with his multi-teammate revive capability. His Ultimate, Quantum Zone, brings back fallen allies with temporary invincibility, and can even revive the same character multiple times. Beyond revives, he heals with Avatar Life Stream and applies Soul Bond for damage sharing and a heal-over-time effect.
Cloak & Dagger provides a unique support style. Cloak's attack offers both healing and damage, and she features self-healing. Dagger focuses on damage and applying Vulnerability debuffs. Dark Teleportation boosts ally movement speed and provides invisibility.
B Tier
Jeff the Land Shark, while popular, lacks the robust healing of higher-tier characters, making him less effective in extended battles. His simpler kit pales in comparison to Mantis' orb mechanics or Warlock's revives. He's a decent entry-level support option, but his Ultimate's cliff-throwing mechanic is more novelty than strategic advantage.
Loki's effectiveness hinges heavily on player skill and strategy. He heals allies and summons decoys that mimic his actions, but precise decoy placement is crucial to avoid environmental obstructions. His Ultimate allows shapeshifting into any hero for 15 seconds, utilizing their abilities.
Rocket Raccoon deviates from traditional healing support, offering utility and damage. He can revive allies with his Respawn Machine and delivers significant damage, leaning more towards a hybrid DPS role. His performance, like Loki's, depends heavily on player skill and he is vulnerable due to his size.
Ultimately, while this tier list offers guidance, character selection should prioritize personal enjoyment and playstyle.
Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
