System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition Renamed System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, Also Coming to Nintendo Switch

Nightdive Studios has unveiled a significant update for the modernized version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG classic. Previously known as System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, the game will now launch as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, and will also be available on the Nintendo Switch.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon be available on Windows PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

The official synopsis:

The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the FTL vessel Von Braun, you find yourself suffering from amnesia. Something has gone horribly wrong. The ship is overrun by hybrid mutants and lethal robots, their chilling cries echoing through the derelict corridors. SHODAN, a malevolent AI determined on humanity's annihilation, is in control. Your mission: stop her. Explore the decaying Von Braun, level by level, uncovering the terrifying fate of the crew and ship, and immersing yourself in the richly detailed story and environment.

Nightdive Studios announced that a release date and new trailer will be revealed during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
