The update introduces the ability to enable or disable seasonal events, including the Nier:Automata DLC. Find this option in the game's Settings under Gameplay. Choose from:

  • Auto: Automatically enables/disables seasonal content based on the season.
  • Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
  • Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a restart to the latest save.

Mixed Reception: A Festive Debate

Following the December 16th announcement, the update received mostly positive feedback, with many fans playfully referring to Eve as "Christmas Eve." However, some players expressed concerns about the frequency of event updates, particularly given Stellar Blade's single-player nature and relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The requirement to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content was also a point of contention. Many games with seasonal content offer multiplayer or high replayability, allowing players to enjoy cosmetic rewards over a longer period. Stellar Blade's shorter playtime necessitates restarts for complete enjoyment of the seasonal additions.
