Stellar Blade Physics Update Makes it Jigglier
The latest Stellar Blade update introduces several new features to the PS5 exclusive title, including notable "visual improvements" to character animations, as detailed by developer Shift Up.
Stellar Blade's Enhanced Physics
Improved Visuals and Gameplay Enhancements
(c) Stellar Blade on Twitter (X) Shift Up's recent patch includes the permanent addition of the previously limited-time Stellar Blade Summer Event Update, now toggleable at will. Further enhancements encompass quality-of-life improvements, updated map markers, a new "Ammo Package" item for instant ammo replenishment, and more. However, the most discussed change centers on the revised physics engine and its impact on character visuals.
As the developers highlighted, the update noticeably increases the animation of Eve's physique. A comparison clearly showcases the enhanced bounce and movement in the updated version.
While Shift Up has consistently embraced a certain stylistic approach to Eve's design (including a skin-tight suit option), this update amplifies the visual impact, extending beyond just the character's form. Social media feedback indicates that the new physics also affect equipment animations in windy conditions, with one fan describing the effect as "real-time CG."
Interestingly, the most pronounced jiggle effect seems limited to Eve's chest area, as shown in the provided GIFs.
A more realistic physics simulation might also incorporate movement in her hair, for a more comprehensive effect.
