New Star Wars Turn-Based Tactics Game to Be Revealed at Star Wars Celebration 2025
Get ready, Star Wars fans! EA's much-anticipated turn-based tactics game set in the Star Wars universe is gearing up for a grand reveal at Star Wars Celebration 2025. Announced back in early 2022, this untitled strategy game is being crafted by Bit Reactor, a talented studio formed by veterans from Firaxis Games, renowned for their stellar work on the XCOM series. Bit Reactor has been collaborating closely with Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind the Star Wars Jedi series, and they're finally ready to unveil their creation to the world.
Mark your calendars for April 19, when you can catch the first look at the game during a live panel. The session will feature key members of the development team from Bit Reactor, alongside representatives from Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, as per the official Star Wars Celebration 2025 schedule.

While we're still in the dark about the specifics of this game—whether it's set in the Old Republic, the Galactic Civil War, or another era, and what kind of gameplay we can expect—it's safe to speculate that it will echo the strategic depth of XCOM, infused with the rich lore and iconic elements of the Star Wars universe.
Meanwhile, Respawn Entertainment continues to work on the third installment of their Star Wars Jedi trilogy, though there's no word yet on whether it will make an appearance at this year's Star Wars Celebration. Respawn had been developing another Star Wars game, an untitled first-person shooter possibly featuring a Mandalorian protagonist, but it was canceled amid a significant restructuring at EA that resulted in the loss of around 670 jobs. Earlier in March, Respawn also canceled a multiplayer first-person shooter project, affecting an undisclosed number of employees.
Beyond the gaming announcements, Lucasfilm is set to tease fans with a sneak peek at the upcoming movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, slated for release in May 2026, and a first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 at Star Wars Celebration.
