Silksong Developer Reaffirms Release For Switch 1

Following Silksong’s brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might skip the current generation and launch directly on the next-gen console. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and Switch 1, Silksong later expanded to include PlayStation and Xbox console releases.

To address fans' concerns about the game's platform availability, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, Matthew Griffin, took to Twitter (X) on April 8. Griffin confirmed that Silksong is slated for release on both the original Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.

While no official details have been shared on how these versions will differ, players can anticipate enhanced visuals on the Switch 2, thanks to its advanced capabilities.

New Silksong Images Revealed

Following the Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo Japan's official website unveiled new images of Silksong. Although the settings in these images are familiar from previous reveals, fans have noted noticeable graphical enhancements since the initial 2019 showcase.

Despite the developers maintaining a tight-lipped approach regarding the game's details, Silksong’s appearance at the Switch 2 Direct and the release of new images have fueled speculation that a release date announcement could be imminent. Recent updates to Silksong’s Steam Metadata have further heightened fans' anticipation for a possible release this year.
