Where to Find Rosa’s Book in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, missing certain side tasks can lead to irreversible failures, and finding Rosa’s book is one such task that's easy to overlook. To successfully complete this side quest, you'll need to know the right steps and timing.

Unlocking the Rosa’s Book Side Quest

To initiate the quest for Rosa’s book, you first need to complete the "Via Argentum" quest and begin "Taking French Leave." During "Taking French Leave," assist the Ruthard family in dealing with Vavak, either through force or persuasion. Once this is done, you'll be directed to speak with Rosa, who will reveal a secret passage into Maleshov that you can use to rescue Hans. Rosa will then request that you retrieve a book for her while you're in Maleshov. Make sure to ask her about the specific book and promise to return it to her, officially starting the "Rosa’s Book" side quest.

This quest must be completed during "Taking French Leave." If you leave Maleshov with Hans without securing the book, the quest fails, and you'll miss the opportunity to romance Rosa. Fortunately, the book is located conveniently on your path to Hans' room.

Upon entering Maleshov, head towards the largest tower where Hans is held at the top. Use the stairs on the side of the building to access the entrance. Once inside, you'll find another set of stairs and a kitchen nearby. Hide in the kitchen until the guards upstairs leave the tower.

Sneak up the stairs to find a room with Lady Ofka, who is facing the fireplace. You can sneak up behind her and knock her out. Take the keys from her body, the keys from the podium in her room, and the sword from the chest in her room. In this room, you'll also find Rosa’s book. Look to the right of the fireplace, where you'll see a red book in the window alcove. Pick it up, and your objective will update to return the book to Rosa.

While in the area, don't forget to enter the room next door and grab another sword from the chest. This will save you time later when you meet Hans, as you'll need two weapons for him and his surprise guest. After securing the book and the sword, head to the top level and unlock the door on the left to trigger a cutscene.

Following the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans doesn't want to use the passageway, you can progress towards romancing him by choosing the dialogue option with a heart, provided you selected the heart choice in Trosky as well. Then, sneak to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, knocking out and hiding guards as necessary. After clearing a path, signal Hans to ensure he reaches the stables safely.

Open the gate to initiate another cutscene that concludes the quest. After it plays, return to Kuttenberg City and stop by Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa’s book, fulfilling her request in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
