Pokemon Legends: Z-A Heads Online Amidst Release Date Leak

Potential Release Date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A Leaks Online

A potential release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A surfaced online, suggesting an August 15, 2025 launch. This date, initially spotted on Amazon UK in early January 2025 and quickly removed, aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.

Announced during the February 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is anticipated as a sequel to the exploration-focused Pokémon Legends: Arceus (2022). Unlike previous entries, Arceus prioritized open-ended exploration and collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its reveal, official information on Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been scarce.

The Amazon UK listing briefly displaying the August 15th date, as noted by content creator Light88, further fuels speculation. While quickly corrected to a placeholder date, the leak adds weight to the possibility of a summer 2025 release.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible

The official release date may be unveiled sooner than expected. Given the initial announcement during Pokémon Day 2024, a similar reveal during Pokémon Day 2025 (February 27th) is highly probable. This date aligns with the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green, and recent data mining of the Pokémon GO game supports a February 27th Pokémon Day event.

Beyond the release date, fans anticipate a gameplay reveal, potentially debuting during the same Pokémon Presents broadcast.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will launch on the Nintendo Switch, and will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to confirmed backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon games frequently included paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received a single free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
